200 Years of Indiana Art Opening at ISM
200 Years of Indiana Art: A Cultural Legacy presents original historical and contemporary works of art by those who help shape Indiana’s view of the world and the world’s view of Indiana. Representing artists from across the state, the exhibition includes paintings, sculpture, textile, glass and mixed media works showcasing the depth, diversity and breadth of artistic talent associated with the Hoosier state. From the early pioneer painters to the contemporary installation artists, this exhibition is a must-see during Indiana’s bicentennial celebration. – Indiana State Museum
As the exclusive caterer at the Indiana State Museum we have the privilege and pleasure of catering to some of the most prestigious and noteworthy events in Indianapolis, including the very memorable celebrations of Indiana’s Bicentennial. Recently, we worked with the Indiana State Museum to cater their opening of 200 Years of Indiana Art. Guests dined on Indiana themed hors d’oeuvre and sipped Indiana themed cocktails while viewing the exhibit prior to the public opening.

The exhibit is comprised of more than 100 two- and three-dimensional works of art. Works by important early Indiana artists provide a historical perspective. Additional works include modern and contemporary pieces illustrating the development of the visual arts in Indiana, showcasing the immense talent and diversity associated with the state.
The exhibit is a signature project of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission with support from the Indiana Arts Commission. Additional funding is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Arts Council of Indianapolis with support from the City of Indianapolis.
