Lisa + Brad’s Intimate Garden Terrace Wedding

We love intimate Garden Terrace ceremonies and receptions. It’s the perfect location, in a very unique and private setting, for smaller weddings. Nestled in the trees on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Garden Terrace is one of those ‘hidden gem’ locations that may not be known by many around the Circle City, which makes it all the more special.

Lisa and Brad had a beautiful outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. Surrounding the fountain outside of Garden Terrace, the ceremony took place early evening. Before the ceremony, guests enjoyed champagne and took their seats. A violinist provided the instrumentals leading up to their vows. Cocktail hour was held outside of Garden Terrace, a perfect choice for a summer wedding.

Hors d’oeuvres
Torched apple bruschetta with fig, brie and balsamic reduction

Guests transitioned to the inside of this quaint 1940’s building (original owned by J.K. Lilly Jr. as a recreational facility for his family) and the celebrations began. The reception began with a cake cutting and toasts. Tables were simply decorated in succulents and grey linen, outlined in white garden chairs. The couple opted for a long king’s table, putting them front and centered while surrounded by loved ones. After dinner, the cake table and a few guests tables were removed to make way for dancing. A special late-night treat for guests were pizzas to fend off the appetite they built up from dancing the night away.

 

First Course
Mixed greens, smoked bacon, green apple slices, ink peppered goat cheese medallions, maple walnut vinaigrette
Assorted breads, lemon rosemary flat bread, French butter balls, and sundried tomato butter

Second Course
Mushroom & boursin stuffed breast of chicken, herb cream sauce
Green beans, crispy fried onions
Roasted sweet baby golden potatoes, fresh thyme butter

Third Course
Lemon cake, raspberry coulis filling, lemon buttercream filing, vanilla icing

Late Night Snack
Artisan pepperoni pizza
Four cheese and pesto pizza

About mid-evening, as the sun was going down, Lisa and Brad snuck off to take some ‘golden hour’ photos outside of Garden Terrace. This is that special magical hour known to photographer for giving them the best light. Lisa and Brad had a very relaxed and exciting day. We were so happy to celebrate with them! Congratulations!
